Sugar Paw Doggy Daycare Policies and Services

For Sugar Paws Doggy Daycare, we require proof of vaccinations at registration, along with updates as needed. We will review your dog’s application first and only then schedule an assessment if appropriate. Dogs will not be accepted for a trial visit without vaccination records and a signed application on file. Please note that submitting an application does not guarantee that your dog will proceed to an assessment visit.

All dogs at our daycare must be friendly toward both people and other dogs. This includes tolerance for various dog types, such as small and large breeds, and intact males and females. If a dog exhibits reactive behaviors, such as snapping, spinning, or excessive mounting, they may not be suitable for this environment. For dogs showing aggression toward other animals or people, private training may be an option to work on behavior modification. Reservations are required, ideally made a day in advance, to secure a spot in daycare. Please inform us if you plan to drop off your dog before 8 AM so we can schedule staff accordingly.

An initial temperament test is required to be accepted into daycare regularly. Dogs over 12 months of age who haven’t attended regularly must be neutered to join the program. Dogs showing symptoms such as coughing or sneezing must stay home to prevent illness from spreading. Due to kennel cough risks, we advise that dogs returning from boarding facilities wait seven days before coming back to daycare.

If a daycare dog is celebrating a birthday, we’re happy to arrange a birthday party with a cake made by The Doggy Bakery, along with a private photo shoot and social media post. This service is available for regular daycare dogs only, for an additional fee of $25.

Due to client needs and facility dynamics, we have revised our policies. A late fee of $10 per 15 minutes applies for pickups after 6 PM and if not picked up by 7 PM the dog will be boarded and charged accordingly, with exceptions for unavoidable delays. A $6 handling fee may also apply in cases where dogs need additional supervision due to stress or difficulty being confined, especially if they stay beyond nine hours.
